I was inspired to create this painting by the garden path in my yard in New Mexico, with the purple sage, apache plume, and desert willow in bloom along with rosemary and sage and looking particularly soft on a partly cloudy summer day. I created this painting from life with a palette knife and professional-grade oil paint.
